This colorful chrysanthemum flower plant pattern is one of Haibarara��s designs that has been passed down through the ages to the present day.
This artwork is by a Japanese artist Kawanabe Kyosai, who was popular during the end of the Edo period to the Meiji era.
Since ancient times, chrysanthemums have been cherished as medicinal herbs, and there is a custom of drink Sake with floating Chrysanthemum petals in the festival on September 9th to pray for longevity. In Japan, various chrysanthemum flower patterns were created in court culture since the Heian period.
It was during the Edo period that it became a flower that the common people loved in the garden, and a large number of varieties were born by breeding.
